Homeless Prevention

Our services provide assistance to families and individuals who face threats to financial stability. In many cases, Upward Transitions can provide a short-term financial bridge in the form of emergency assistance and access to community resources to maintain stability. Eligible families may work with case managers on a long-term basis to increase and develop skills that can provide a sustainable income. Case managers work closely with these families to create a plan with goals that address specific needs and create the means to avoid future homelessness.

Homeless Prevention Eligibility

Rent Assistance - applicant must:

Must live in Oklahoma County.
Have a 5-day notice to quit or eviction notice in the client’s name for the current address.
Have minor children under the age of 18 or senior 55 years of age or older living in the home.
Have proof of hardship which has caused difficulty in paying the bill.
Have proof of income or pending income.

Utility Assistance - applicant must:

Must live in Oklahoma County.
Have a cutoff notice in the client’s name for the current address.
Have minor children under the age of 18 or senior 55 years of age or older living in the home.
Have proof of hardship which has caused difficulty in paying the bill.
Have proof of income or pending income.

Public Housing Deposit Assistance

OKLAHOMA CITY PUBLIC HOUSING AUTHORITY

PUBLIC HOUSING DEPOSIT

We assist with a portion of rental deposits for public housing with a referral from Oklahoma Housing Authority. No Section 8 deposits. This is a one time service.
