Upward Transitions Receives New $15,000 Grant for Client Services

Upward Transitions was recently awarded a grant of $15,000 from the Anschutz Family Foundation that will be used for assisting clients with services.

“This generous grant from the Anschutz Family Foundation is an example of their commitment to strengthening families and communities,” said Dana Hope-Chism, executive director, Upward Transitions. “The Anschutz family’s kindness will allow us to help people with everything from homeless prevention services to helping guide those who are homeless back home.”

Since its inception in 1982, the Anschutz Family Foundation has distributed 7,742 grants totaling more than $39 million. The foundation focuses on supporting organizations that meet human and community needs while advancing individuals to become productive and responsible citizens.

Upward Transitions offers a wide variety of programs, including financial assistance with rent and utilities, relocation for victims of domestic violence and transitional housing for homeless families. Upward Transitions also directs clients to resources that assist with life skills training and education to improve their employment potential.

Also, two information booths at Will Rogers World Airport are staffed 365 days a year by Upward Transitions volunteers who assist visitors at the airport.

For nearly 90 years, Upward Transitions has touched the lives of Oklahomans, elevating those in need, stranded or homeless to a position of self-sufficiency.
