Travelers Aid at Will Rogers is Accepting Applications

Traveler's Aid Desk at Will Rogers Airport

Our Travelers Aid airport program is accepting applications for information booth volunteers. Travelers Aid airport volunteers provide a helping hand and a friendly face to travelers and visitors at Will Rogers World Airport.

In addition to offering a warm welcome and big smile to visitors, volunteers answer the phones, offer paging services, assist with directions and information, distribute maps and brochures, provide information for military personnel, and assist with social service problems.

“Our volunteers are truly ambassadors for Oklahoma City.” Travelers Aid volunteer program director for Upward Transitions, Periann Pulliam, continued, “They love their city, and they have a passion for helping people. Volunteers may assist a distressed traveler with transportation or lodging one minute and help another visitor find the perfect restaurant for dinner tonight.”

Travelers Aid volunteers staff two information booths at the airport, one on the ticket counter level and one in baggage claim, seven days per week from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Volunteers typically work one 4-hour shift per week.

Anyone who likes to meet people, solve problems, answer questions, and work in a dynamic environment should contact Periann Pulliam, Travelers Aid volunteer program director (phone: 232-5507, e-mail: ppulliam@upwardtransitions.org) or download an application.
