Oklahoma Sports Legends Serve Up Pizza to Help the Homeless: 5th Annual Celebrity Wait Night to Raise Money for Upward Transitions
What’s better than meeting legendary OU and OSU athletes? Having them serve you delicious pizza, of course, and, it’s all for a great cause!
Upward Transitions will host it’s annual Celebrity Wait Night from 5:30 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, March 25 at Hideaway Pizza, located at 901 N. Broadway, Oklahoma City.
“For this year’s event, we went with a sports theme,” said Dana Hope Chism, executive director, Upward Transitions. “This event is always a lot of fun and we’re so fortunate to have such talented athletes donate their time to help us further our mission to prevent and end homelessness.”
Scheduled to appear are University of Oklahoma football legends Rusty Griffis, Scott Hill, Don Key, Charlie Newton, Kelly Phelps and Greg Sellmyer. Also scheduled to appear are Oklahoma State University sports greats Dennis Burbank, Matt Clark and Leroy Combs.
The Morning Animals Inzinga and Spinozi from 98.1 FM The Sports Animal will provide some color commentary, and, cheering everyone on, the Oklahoma City Thunder Girls!
Each sports legend will be working for tips that will go to support Upward Transitions’ programs that serve the less fortunate in Oklahoma City.
Added Chism, “eating delicious Hideaway Pizza, getting to meet some of your heroes and helping your community makes everyone a winner!”
