As Upward Transitions celebrates its centennial year, the organization continues to increase the excitement around its annual fundraising gala at the Skirvin. From special honorees, like Chickasaw Nation’s Governor Bill Anoatubby to live music from the Justin Echols Trio, the event promises to be a night to remember.
On Thursday, April 10, Upward Transitions announced that the master of ceremonies for the gala will be Lisa Monahan of Oklahoma City’s News Channel 9. She’s the recipient of 9 Emmy Awards and an Edward R. Murrow Award. As an investigative journalist, she has influenced changes in state laws. uncovered corruption, and found evidence in cold cases. Her 20+ years in Oklahoma City’s media have led her to anchoring the noon news and filing special reports for Channel 9.
