Airport Volunteers Honored

Upward Transitions was an award recipient at the Oklahoma City Convention and Vistors Bureau’s 3rd Annual Hometown Heroes Awards presented at the Eclipse Room at Remington Park on Wednesday, May 8. The awards are presented annually and honor individuals and organizations who have contributed tremendously to the Oklahoma City tourism and hospitality industry.

The Airport Information Program operated by Upward Transitions was recognized for the volunteers that dedicate their time to provide a helping hand and friendly face to visitors at Will Rogers World Airport 365 days a year. Accepting the award on behalf of the 63 program volunteers were Periann Pulliam, Upward Transitions Director of Volunteers; Dana Hope Chism, Executive Director of Upward Transitions; Floraetta Spain, a 21-year airport volunteer; Miriam Brewster, a 7-year airport volunteer; and Nancy Hyde, Upward Transitions’ Board Member.

“Our volunteers are the foundation of the Airport Information Program, and each and every volunteer has earned this recognition and appreciation,” said Pulliam.
