Angie has healed completely and returned to work. She and her son are thriving today. However, just a few months ago, things were very different.
Due to a medical emergency, Angie was unable to work for several weeks. She and her son were facing eviction as she had fallen behind in her rent.
“When I reached out to Upward Transitions, I owed rent, late fees, legal fees. I was overwhelmed,” Angie explained.
Upward Transitions was able to assist Angie in getting her rent up to date and in avoiding eviction and possible homelessness. Since returning to work, she reports she and her son are doing very well.
Justin now has his own permanent form of transportation and is saving money for when he is ready to move out of temporary housing.
Earlier this year, his Pivot case manager referred Justin to Upward Transitions for the new Hope Flyers program. Justin was struggling to get to and from work and to run personal errands and shop for groceries as his bike needed repairs frequently.
Upward Transitions loaned him an electric bike to use free-of-cost so he could go to work and take care of his personal needs while saving money for more reliable, permanent transportation. Within a few months with guidance from his Upward Transitions case manager, he had saved enough to purchase new, reliable transportation of his own and saved additional funds for his future.
